Carnelian

Carnelian is a form of chalcedony, and member of quartz family. It usually
occurs in red, orange or red-brown. The coloring is due to presence of iron. The
best natural carnelian colors come from India because of color enhancement
from exposure to the sun. Natural carnelian will have a cloudy distribution of
color when held up to light.
