The Guardian was inspired by a wood print of an Etruscan Guardian Spirit in Raven Grimassi's book
"Italian Witchcraft."  It is believed that these house deities called Lasa or Lare, served as the
precurser of the "Watchers" or "Watchtowers" of the four elements.  Carved over doors or beds, in
Etruscan times, these figures acted as protectors and messengers of the Gods.  It is believed
that artists used these images as reference for our concept of angels.  Those with eyes in the
wings were of the highest level, much like archangels.  This Guardian represents all four elements
and carries aspects of both male and female.  On its sword is written "Defensor" in Theban script.
Its wings are spread to encompass the dwelling in which it is hung.  This watchful being
embodies the security and comfort of Divine Blessing.
May the Guardian being safety and security to your home and family.

Nicely finished on back with hook for easy hanging if you desire.
Morrigan, translated as "Phantom Queen" is an awesome Battle Goddess.  Here she is in one of her stories
thru the eyes of Cuchulain, who is rousted from sleep hearing a great cry and leaps up to defend the cattle.  He finds
a stunningly beautiful woman all dressed in red with flames on her brow.  The woman's horse has only
one leg and the post of her chariot goes straight thru the horse's body.  The horse is being led by a man with a
forked staff.  Cuchulain demands the man's name and Morrigan refuses to tell him, but engages in a war
of riddles.  Cuchulain in a fit of frustration rushes upon the woman in the chariot to kill her and she
vanishes transforming into a crow cawing into the night.  He is dumbfounded to realize he has just attacked the
Goddess of War.
Morrigan can be called on for passing over rituals, to assist in prevailing in conflict, finding the true self
or courage in the face of fear, as a potent force for banishing and in dark moon rites.

Common among the carved decoration of Europe's oldest churches and cathedrals: he is often referred to as
